Anagram, Cryptex, and the Bible

Dan Brown's book "The Da Vinci Code" and its movie adaptation by Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsman are fiction as claimed by the author. Wikipedia defines the term fiction as "storytelling of imagined events". However, Brown has intricately sewn the story with the "facts" (ex. Holy Grail). These so called facts have attracted much attention from readers and moviegoers alike due to the subject's controversial nature.

As a young man, I had already heard of these accusations and only now that someone has been able to bring the discussion or argument of such matter in a large scale. Thanks to the media for arousing public interest. If only the movie was religiously consistent with the book, it would have been easier to tackle punto a punto and to say that the movie was a disappointment is really irrelevant here but really it was.

For quite some time, I am bothered by the message which the book and movie try to communicate. Is it blasphemous? But is Howard's defense of his work being fictitious in nature not enough to stop any objections? But if it were trully an act of blasphemy, have i sinned the same by taking part in it by reading and watching then keeping mum?

And just like this entry, living my faith is full of questions-- sometimes answered but most of the times branching out into an infinite river of thoughts. However, the asking ables my roots to dig deeper and lets me anchor to the Rock who strengthens. "Seek and you shall find."
