How I got in? Well... I didn't have to audition, whatsoever. Sir Alex (the director) was looking for a bass and there I was at the right place and at the right time. It was indeed a blessing! Before that, I prayed for an activity that would keep me busy as I await the unfolding of God's plan.
I passively enjoyed every rehearsal. I had always sat at the far back side of the room (that of the CRL Choir room during music rehearsals and that of the Teatro Hermogenes Ylagan during play rehearsals) while I watched the professionals do their thing. Most of those times, I was in a trance caused by disbelief. I really never expected to be acting on stage (at least for this). All I wanted was to sing with the pit choir (just like Soul Singer's stint with the 2001 production of Fame the Musicale). I asked for something simple but God gave me something so grand! Let me just clear- I am not complaining.
It's going to be a big day, at least for an amateur like me. I'm oozing with excitement! I hope y'all could watch. I have my split-second "moments" but nothing fancy.
All of these are for God's greater glory.

Last night, I, together with Ket and Ian, had the great privilege of seeing Ben on his first big performance onstage. And that was really fun! Astig! :)
At first we weren't sure if we'll be able to watch it (P400 lang naman kase ang tiket ;p and medyo tight ang budget these days..)Good thing, there's the 50% discount etchos for the performers' "fans" so Ben was able to buy us tickets.
From the moment the we entered the theater, we were already awaiting for his "appearance". Pero hindi kinaya ng powers namin when this guy in a 'barong' and Jose Rizal-hair-do as "Panauhing Lalaki" suddenly appeared at the center stage. Ang haba ng exposure, in fairness! at, grabe ang projection at acting.. lumabas ang pagka-tsismoso! ;p
The "Taongbayan" role was also a world-beater.. with the tabak, pointed tsinelas and Katipunero attire! Mind you, it was not just a split-second apperance, hehe!
Kaya naman, we're really proud of you Ben! You're really en voyage to stardom! hehe.. Walang sinabi si Erik Santos sa 'yo kagabi. He was just amongst your spectators. :)
Haay.. hindi ko pala blog to?! Napahaba ata yung entry ko. Oh well, i know naman na nag-enjoy kayo! :D 'till next post..wehehe..
